Our Consultant Dermatologists can provide you with support and advice on the management of all skin conditions, including sun awareness, mole checks and other skin related concerns you may have.

What happens during your appointment?

At the time of your appointment, your consultant will examine and diagnose the affected area. If further tests are required, to confirm the issue this will be arranged for by the consultant. Once the issue is identified, your consultant will discuss a personalised treatment plan with you.

If your consultant requires another specialist’s expertise during your treatment, they will arrange for a referral to have you seen by them.

What are the different dermatologist treatments available?

Eczema & dermatitis

If your skin is inflamed, dry or itchy from time to time, you may be experiencing symptoms of eczema. Eczema can be very common among children but some adults can develop this condition too. Atopic dermatitis is the most frequently found form of this condition.

Acne

Acne is a skin condition that causes spots, oily and inflamed skin which may be painful for you to touch. It develops most commonly on the face, back and chest and can sometimes lead to forming cysts.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis causes inflamed, flaky skin with silvery scales around it. They are small patches often occurs around the elbows, knees, scalp and lower back, but can appear anywhere on the body. Psoriasis is commonly found among adults over the age of 35.

Warts & verrucas

Warts and verrucas are a common skin condition where small lumps form on your skin. Your consultant will freeze the wart using cryotherapy to ensure it falls off in the following weeks. A small surgery may be required if the treatment does not work.

Molluscum

Molluscum contagiosum is a viral skin infection which is quite harmless. Your consultant will recommend direct medical treatments or use cryotherapy to remove the spot completely by freezing the area.

Rosacea

Rosacea is a skin condition that causes redness around the skin of your nose, cheeks, forehead and chin. It may cause a stinging sensation when you apply any skin products or water to the redden area.

Mole check

Moles are harmless small spots found on your skin. In case you notice any changes of the appearance of your mole you should get this checked.

Skin cancers

Changes or new persistent moles or lumps on your body can be concerning and should be reviewed by a consultant. If you are diagnosed with skin cancer, it is important that they identify the type of the cancer you may have but also guide you through a tailor-made treatment plan.

Vitiligo (white patches)

The lack of melanin can cause pale white patches on your skin which is a long-term condition. During your consultation your consultant will ask you relevant questions and some tests may also be required to diagnose the cause of the condition and work out a suitable treatment plan.

Excessive sweating

This condition is common and can affect any part of your body. It is normal to sweat when your body is under extreme stress or exposed to heat but this becomes a concern when you continue to sweat when your body does not need to cool down. There are various treatment options available and if required our consultant may refer you to another specialist within the clinic.

Hair loss

Alopecia is not a concerning issue but it can be upsetting. During your appointment, your consultant during your appointment will help diagnose the reason for the condition and help guide you through various treatment options that may be available.

Other skin conditions

Our consultants are also available to help treat you if you are diagnosed with other skin conditions including rashes, hives (urticaria), graft versus host disease (GvHD) and allergies.
